Abstract:
This paper investigates and analyses additional service revenues and incremental net benefit/loss in using battery energy storage system to support ice thermal energy storage system in green buildings in the context of Singapore. In addition to the main service of air cooling, the hybrid energy storage system provides additional services as in grid-scale applications and behind-the-meter applications. A real-time control strategy is proposed to perform frequency regulation, as a grid-scale application, with specific requirements in the wholesale electricity market in Singapore.
